If to complete your library, you need 27 volumes of "The Girl's Own Annual: and a Woman's Magazine" circa 1908 - 1940, or a first edition of "The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes" by Beatrice Potter, then Ginnan Books is your destination.
This charming little bookstore run by two charming women has a marvelous selection of old children's books in English, French, German, and other languages, as well as old encyclopedias, art books, books on Japan, books of drawings, and books on books. Open since 1947, they have gathered books from four centuries into their tiny shop.
Kunitachi is worth a visit anyway. Spend an afternoon browsing at Ginnan then have a coffee around the corner at our favorite kissaten, Jushamon. 0425.76.4250.
Ginnan is on Daigaku-dori, the wide main street perpendicular to the station. It is just before Kinokuniya supermarket.
